But with the help of a cookbook and more practice, one can cook it perfectly. It is a nice feeling when one’s family love to eat the food that a person has prepared especially fir them. There are four steps to follow in cooking a steak.

Step 1 is selecting the steak. When one is off to buy steak in the market, he must choose the one that has a good quality. He should also choose the cut of meat that he wants to cook. There are different types of steak these are rib-eye, T-bone, flank, and filet mignon cuts. It is better to choose a thin steak because it very easy to cook. If one wants to make a tender steak, you can marinate the meat.

Step 2 is put the steak on the skillet. First, one should prepare your heavy duty cast-iron. After this, put one tablespoon of oil in the cast-iron. He can also use butter in cooking your steak. Then, turn on the stove and put it on a high level. Get the steak and put it on the skillet. Let the steak stays on the skillet for about 2 to 3 minutes. The last that you must do is flip it over. It is not advisable to use a fork in flipping. He should use tongs.

Step 3 is to test the steak if it has been properly and thoroughly cooked. There are three ways in testing a steak. First is by using a meat thermometer, second is by cutting it, and third is by pressing the steak. In using the meat thermometer, one has to stick the device in the thickest part of the meat. After this, utilize the temperature so that one will know if he cooks the steak well. The second way of testing is by cutting the steak. But some people are not doing this because it makes the steak dry. The third one is by pressing the meat by using your finger. If one feels that the meat is truly firm, he can determine that the meat is ready to serve.

Step 4 is the finishing touch. In this step, one must get the steak from the heat. After this, let the steak rest for about 5 minutes. One should cover the steak by using an aluminium foil. He can add flavour on his steak. But it is up to the person if he likes to add flavour on it.
